Williamsburg has a new dinner address

There is a new answer for the friend who wants dinner to feel like an occasion but does not want to cross the river. Liba has opened at The William Vale in Williamsburg, according to published reporting and a live reservation listing.

The New York Post reports that the restaurant comes from the group behind 12 Chairs Cafe and follows a soft launch. Its kitchen is led by culinary director Maayan Glass, with a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern menu and a brick oven at the center of the room.

The room sounds ready for an actual night out. Published details describe natural wood, soft lighting, a marble bar, intimate tables and a larger communal table. That makes it useful for a date, a small celebration or the dinner where everyone promised to dress a little better.
